A Healthy Approach to Sex and Sexuality

Since 2006, I  have been able to help many people suffering from the impact of sex, pornography and internet based compulsive behaviour.   It's a complex issue, with many possible causes. By maintaining an open mind, I avoid a one size fits all diagnosis and can help you think about its function in your life. I promote sexual health, and do not approach the behaviour as an addiction in the same way that many therapists do.

Safe and Ethical

Out of control sexual behaviour, is a sexual problem in which an individuals consensual sexual urges and behaviours feel out of control.

I work in a safe and ethical way, with a compassionate supportive approach. My treatment is without judgement and I am free from the belief that sexual compulsion is a choice in the normal meaning of the word. I believe it is a response to emotional issues or other external factors.

Empathy and Insight

I am emphatic that improvements in psychological well being, will lead to changes in how you relate to yourself and slow down the urge to act compulsively . I see out of control sexual behaviour as a symptom of suppressed past emotional trauma, and unresolved difficulty.

I offer insight and empathy that gets to the core of the problem. It goes without saying that confidentiality is a priority.

I previously worked in the NHS for many years, and have also worked in counselling agencies specialising in the treatment of addictions, and the support of victims of sexual abuse.
